figure study of the day

When Covid had rested a little in between and many people around me said “yes” to vaccination, I attended a few evenings at “international livedrawing group”. It was kind of cool even if drawing with a sketchbook on your lap is not super optimal and the lack of light and … well never mind. It was good. I hope it will continue at some point, at the moment the situation is just shit.

p.s. please excuse this bad scan somehow I can’t get it better.

Another crooked sketchbook joins the collection

Today I tried my hand at bookbinding again. Since I don’t have a press, I wanted to bind this little sketchbook without having to glue anything.
Coptic binding would be a solution, but the individual sections are too far apart when I want to work with colour in the book. The cover is made of paper leather, which I discovered the other day while shopping in the art supply shop. It’s all a bit crooked and lopsided, but without a hatchet or something similar, it’s more of a sketchbook with character.

Addendum:
if I don’t glue it, the gaps are relatively big, I think I’ll leave it as it is anyway. Maybe I’ll adapt the drawings to the book 😀
