Vienna in the late afternoon

Black and white photograph of a large frame, similar to an installation. Grey clouds. The time of day has advanced and a few luminous lantern heads can be seen. The frame square is located near Wien Mitte.
frame

Today, late in the afternoon, we were on the way to pick up an order. On the way, I noticed this square again. It’s more like a frame. Well, it was super windy and we are getting a bit of the current hurricane here. It was somehow very atmospheric, that’s what I tried to capture and here is the result.

Holly

You can visit this lady at the Vienna Central Cemetery. The photography fits very well with my general mood today. 😐

fil(l)et owls

filet cronchet – yarn Aida 10

This is filet crochet – not so sure if it’s also called “fillet or filet” in English. Well, these are owls 🙂 I like owls. This is going to be quite a long lace, at least I’d like it to be. My wrist says “nope” but we’ll see who wins.

Gorilla or not Gorilla

Klimt s Beethoven frieze – “ape” study

When I moved to Vienna, one of the things I really wanted to see was the Beethoven Frieze at the Vienna Secession. So I packed my sketchbook and a pen and sat – in front of Corona, of course – down in the basement of the Secession to study the Frieze. In the end, it was just too crowded down there and it was only enough to take a picture of this monkey. The people on site kept talking about a gorilla – but a gorilla looks quite different, doesn’t it? Well, yes. Here is the ape. If you want to know more about this frieze, you can read about it here https://www.gustav-klimt.com/Beethoven-Frieze.jsp.
